Saturday ….Success!

Success this week was getting the baby boy healthy! It took a lot of prayer, a lot of lost sleep and enough steroids to make him the size of Hulk Hogan!

Other successes this week?

Let’s see…
Having a blast at Touch a Truck!
Another wonderful, uplifting Girl’s Night at my mom’s!
A slew of birthday gifts and a baby shower gift….but only one that I can post pictures of – the rest will come next week.
Several (yes more than 1…more than 2) ETSY sales! And I am excited to say had more site views this month than last! YAAAHH!
Oh, and a HEALTHY baby boy got a hair cut today!

What were your successes this week?

Success this week is surviving!

We were blessed so many times this week – with great fellowship, with support and with food! All these blessing more than make up what I have lacked in motivation this week.

Specific successes this week…

That Accounting mid-term I turned in last Saturday – I got a 94! Success!

I had 3 Etsy sales!

I finished and mailed out Girls Night Out Invites for my mom. I even made an extra set to list on Etsy, so watch for those to be posted soon.

I lined up a walking buddy! YEAH!!!!

Grace had her first sleep over. It went brilliantly!

Oh, and someone else’s success to share. That special teacher I wrote about in my Made of Monday post for back to school, well she was named Teacher of the Year for her school! Congratulations, Mrs. Johnson!

I bet y’all thought I forgot about today! Well I didn’t…I just had to have some success first so I could write about it.

AND I DID!
In taking this picture, I learned that
the only good pictures of feet are
those that involve sand!

I finished and submitted my Accounting Mid-Term with two days to spare! WAHOOO!

I have also gathered all the base pieces to the kid’s Halloween costumes and found Jackson a warm and cozy all-over winter time jacket thing for $8.

I had the most glorious morning getting a hot stone pedicure with my mom at Mia Bella. Thanks to Groupon, Mia Bella and my awesome mom, I now have lovely feet and toe nails that are rockin’ “Affair in Red Square” Red…I am totally sporting open toed shoes even though it is chilly!

So how about y’all? What were your successes this week? What are you going to try harder on next week?

Ahh, Saturday!

What noteworthy accomplishments can I post this week?

Well, I can post pictures of two things I did last week now that they should be “received”…

Having such great first birthday photos made making
there photo postcards super easy! Thank you, Aubrianah!
Bibs for a sweet baby boy…
Thank you’s to those folks who made Jackson’s birthday so special…

I have on my list to post how many hair tutus I finished for the Appomattox Rail Festival, but I haven’t done a single stinking one! So scratch that!

I did get my homework posted.

A special Thank you to Jean, from Nana's Designs for
your help with these! Custom embroidery is a beautiful thing!
I will get her info on facebook, soon!
I did get my weekly chores done.

I did get out of that funk! Again, a special thank you to everyone who was so understanding and supportive.

And maybe most importantly, I am ready to face next week.

No, most importantly, all I accomplished this week  I was able to do because of the wonderful, talented, and supportive friends I have! I sure am blessed!

How about you?

Saturday....Success!

How is this for success?
A beautiful picture of my beautiful school girl!
Thank You, Aubrianah Shannen Photography!

Week 2 of the 16 week semester done!

A 75/75 on my first Accounting Assignment!

A full 4 weeks of blogging under my belt!

All of my house cleaning chores accomplished!

Etsy sales on Etsy!

Student Loans disbursed!

Coffee out with a friend!

Could it get any better? Well, sure, but for now it is good. It is doable and livable…

I do have other things to share, but you will have to wait for next week when I can post pictures. I hate to post pictures of things that are intended as gifts or surprises. But I can say that I knocked two projects off the long term to do list, AND I am pleased as punch with how they turned out.

A special Thank You to everyone who has been reading and sharing the blog. I appreciate it.  I also appreciate all the comments on the blog and Facebook page posts! I really do enjoy getting feedback…and I would love to hear about your successes.

For me there aren’t huge successes or successes that are out where others can see them, but it feels good to say I did something. It fuels me to do more.  So please share your successes…either in the comments or send me a picture and a description of what you have accomplished during the week and I will do my best to include it in next Saturday’s successes!

Success is not mine alone...

Today I would like to share someone else's successes with you...

There are two shinning young girls that I know. They are talented photographers.

They don't just take pretty pictures, though. They bring out the best in people. They make other people shine. They capture what makes a person special and real...and they are teenagers!

As a teenager, I certainly didn't know who I was well enough to capture who anyone else is. I am constantly amazed by these girls...and not just their photography.

They are generous, helpful, modest, smart and funny...and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

They are blessed, too...to have mothers who support and foster their talents, encouraging them to do things that most girls their age would not even think of undertaking.

Tonight the girl's have their first photography show opening. What a huge success- for the girls and their mom's...and everyone who knows them and has had the privilege of being photographed by them!

I hope if you in the area you will stop by the show tonight. There is more information here. But if not, please take the time to read about the girls and their project here. And visit their pages to more of their amazing work.

And to my two favorite photographers and the mom's...CONGRATULATIONS!

Saturday....Success!

It is our last summer Saturday and it is chock full of fun, but I am going to take a few minutes to share this week’s successes with you.
  1. Cute as can be Number Banners for my photographer friend. She did some Back to School shoots this week.
  2. Did the filing! This was a huge undertaking. I thought I had filed recently, but alas its was all of the filing for the last 8 months.  Hubby and I also purged all the old filing from the cabinet that we no longer needed! It was the last thing on my summer’s end to do list, which leads to number 3…
  3. Finished the Summer’s End To- Do list!
  4. Sorted through Grace’s little toys – you know all the teeny tiny junky toys…I thought I had found a smaller container that would lead to some toy donating, but alas it held it all! We did move a few things to the jewelry box and found some missing pieces of other toys.
  5. Followed the house cleaning schedule – mostly – but the house is clean for two weeks in a row!
  6. Posted to the blog every day. Wasn’t quite so good about posting to ETSY, but did some work in the shop.
  7. Number 7 is huge for me…Two weeks in a row made some time to get together with grown up friends for grown up time. Thank you to Janine over at the Whimsical Peanut and Ruth at Just the Girls, Real Beauty Project!
  8. Read the first ten pages of my accounting homework…this a small piece of this week’s homework, but it is a huge step forward.
  9. Made a super fun little boy a super fun reversible cape for his birthday! Check out the pattern here…My applique technique could use some work, but the finished product will be enjoyed, I hope, despite my lack of skill!

I think that is it for this week…some big, some small, but all successes none the less!

What were your successes this week? I would love to hear about them….

Saturday Sucess for the week of 8/13

It is Saturday! Time to celebrate this week’s successes...

1) I cleaned up my ribbon stash!
2) Dance and Music Creations is now carrying TIAMO HairTutus!  This is a big success – as it is a relationship built AND I completed and delivered my biggest order in less than 12 hours (with the support of my husband)! Oh and I printed lables for them on ribbon! How cool is that!

3) I figured out how to set up a treasury on Etsy...check it out here!
4) The house is clean, really clean! Dusted, tidy, floors clean, fans dusted. Two big organizing projects left, but I might really get it all done before schools starts. That feels really, really good.

5) I wrote for the blog daily and posted to Etsy daily – even when it didn’t seem like it would happen.

6) I made two amazing photographers camera strap covers. I am pretty proud of this because I found a pattern, made myself an actual pattern and then modified it to fit the fabric I had.

What were your successes this week?
